FAQs

As an Obstetrician Gynaecologist, I provide a wide range of services to support women’s health at all stages of life. This includes prenatal care, childbirth services, gynaecological examinations, screenings, management of reproductive health issues, family planning, and treatment for gynaecological conditions such as endometriosis, fibroids, and menstrual disorders.

It’s recommended to schedule your first antenatal appointment as soon as you suspect you’re pregnant or as soon as you’ve received a positive pregnancy test. Early prenatal care is crucial for monitoring your health and the health of your baby throughout pregnancy.

During antenatal appointments, we’ll monitor your health, conduct routine screenings, and track the development of your baby. This may include physical exams, ultrasounds, blood tests, and discussions about nutrition, exercise, and prenatal care.

There are various options for pain relief during childbirth, including epidurals, nitrous oxide, pain medications, and natural pain management techniques such as breathing exercises, massage, and hydrotherapy. We’ll discuss your preferences and help you develop a birth plan that aligns with your needs and preferences.

There are many contraceptive options available, including birth control pills, patches, intrauterine devices (IUDs), contraceptive implants, and barrier methods. The best contraceptive method for you will depend on factors such as your health history, lifestyle, preferences, and future family planning goals. During a consultation, we’ll discuss your options and help you make an informed decision.

If you’re experiencing abnormal menstrual bleeding, pelvic pain, or any other concerning symptoms, it’s important to schedule a consultation as soon as possible. We’ll conduct a thorough evaluation, including a medical history review, physical examination, and any necessary diagnostic tests to determine the underlying cause of your symptoms and develop a personalized treatment plan.

Recovery after gynaecological surgery will vary depending on the type of procedure performed and individual factors. I will provide detailed postoperative instructions and guidance to help you navigate the recovery process, including pain management, activity restrictions, and follow-up care.

Yes. A referral from your GP or specialist is required for your appointment. This is to ensure you can claim with Medicare and to keep your family GP up to date. Your GP referral will be valid for 12 months, whilst a specialist referral will be only valid for 3 months. Referrals need to be renewed annually.
